Recent research shows that the average American adult drinks 2.7- 3.1 cups of coffee per day. This means as a society we are consuming about 400 million cups of coffee per year. The average office worker is drinking about 20 cups of coffee per week at the office for a whopping nearly 1040 cups per year while working.
The effects of coffee has been a longtime controversial conversation due to potential health risks associated with it.
While everything in moderation is better, research is finding that it is safe to consume up to five cups of coffee per day. I’m fact the majority of issues stemming from coffee intake has little to do with the caffeine but much to do with other aspects of the coffee.
Nearly 90% of mainstream coffee tested positive for mold of some type. This with other things like bad water are the source for problems. It is important to choose coffee that has a high elevation, practices fair trade and utilizes a sun drying method to prevent the majority of issues linked to side effects from poor coffee.
A recent study by John Hopkins medicine reported that,according to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, “it’s safe for most people to drink three to five cups of coffee a day with a maximum intake of 400 milligrams of caffeine.”
They reported multiple benefits of drinking coffee, including the following:

- Your odds of getting colon cancer will decrease
